Longleaf Pine Straw — Bale

Description

Longleaf pine straw is what we opened with in 2010, and it’s still the fastest way to make beds look finished. It knits together as it settles, holds on a slope better than mulch, and gives beds and borders a clean, natural look.

• Bales are the grab-and-go for beds and borders; rolls cover a stretch fast and work well on a slope
• Knits together as it settles and helps hold down weeds
• Pull the flakes apart and shake them loose — fluffed straw covers more ground and looks more natural

One longleaf bale spread about 3 inches deep covers roughly 50–70 square feet; use 60 as your middle number, then round up to the next whole bale. Tell us your bed measurements and we’ll do the math with you.
